When words can't go in, they wait for you

What changed since your last update.

  1. A card by the dot shows the words that didn't go in, with a Copy button.

    Copy what didn't go in

No text box, or a paste that failed? Your words open in a card by the dot. Click Copy and paste them where you want. They're in History too.

  2. The dot draws a check when the words go in.

A check when your words land

The dot draws a check and plays a soft sound once the field shows your words, and a different sound when they didn't go in. You can turn sounds off in the menu bar menu.

  3. The pointer comes over the dot, which opens, and a click starts dictation.

A dot you can find and click

The dot stands out more on a dark Mac and opens as soon as you point at it. One click starts dictation, and a second click finishes.

  4. Words dictated into an X box Intent can't place wait at the dot with Write post.

    Quotes and replies on X

Talk into X's quote or reply box and Intent writes it from what you said, the way it writes new posts. If it can't tell what kind of box you're in, it types nothing and offers Write post.

  5. Settings shows a Gmail mailbox as not connected, with Reconnect and Remove.

Gmail says when it stops syncing

If Intent can no longer read your Gmail, Settings now says not connected and offers Reconnect, instead of looking fine.

  6. Also fixed

    • The first hold of your dictation key after starting or waking the Mac works.
    • A slow or stuck microphone no longer freezes Intent.
    • Dictating over a selection that holds an emoji or image, as in Slack, no longer shows the Copy card when the words went in.
    • Turning on Accessibility opens only System Settings, and your words are kept if it's off.
